Bahrain Records 2354 New Active COVID-19 Cases, the Highest Recorded for a Single Day!

A stark reminder of the dangers of Covid-19 has been presented as the number of daily cases in Bahrain surged to a record high yesterday with 2,354 registered, alongside 1,535 recoveries and eight fatalities.

Two Bahraini men, 62 and 72; three Bahraini women, 59, 69 and 66; and three expat men, 65, 50 and 36, died yesterday, taking the death toll to 773.

Of the new cases, 855 were expat workers, 1,485 contacts of local cases and 14 travel-related.

Of the 17,609 active cases, 215 are receiving treatment and 197 in critical condition.

Bahrain has so far registered a total of 206,878 cases with 4,412,989 virus tests conducted. 188,496 people have recovered according to the latest statistics on the BeAware Bahrain app.

The vaccination drive continues to be a success, with 861,398 taking their first dose and 657,975 having had their second.
