Bahrain will move to the Green Level on Friday. Here's what that means!

Bahrain will be opening up on Friday and moving to the Covid-19 ‘green level’ as a result of falling positive cases, the National Taskforce to Combat Covid-19 has announced.

But it added that new restrictions will be introduced over Eid with the kingdom adopting ‘orange level’ in the interest of public health and safety during the Arafah and Eid Al Adha holidays, starting from Monday to Thursday.

The announcement by the taskforce follows a review of the average Covid-19 positivity rates and approval by the Government Executive Committee.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, chaired a meeting of the executive committee, held remotely, earlier in the day.

It reviewed latest Covid-19 measures and regulations, including travel procedures and the ‘Alert Level Traffic Light System’.

Average Covid-19 positivity rates will again be reviewed following the Eid Al Adha holidays, on July 23, to determine the alert level.

The task force emphasised the importance of following preventive measures throughout the holidays.

‘Green level’ includes the opening of the below sectors to those who are vaccinated and have completed 14 days after the second dose of a vaccination and those who have recovered from Covid-19, by presenting their green shields on the “BeAware” app. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated or a recovered person.
