Bahrain’s 50th National Day Celebrations Start at the Southern Governorate

The Southern Governorate has started festivities marking the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of National Day which is celebrated in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab and Muslim state, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.

The first celebrations marking the national days were held at the vicinity of the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort, under the patronage of the Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

The festivities featured poetry recitals by Abdulla bin Huweil, which expressed deep allegiance and belonging to the homeland. The police musical band and the Bahrain Ardah Society also took part in the celebrations which were attended by several citizens.

The Southern Governorate has lined up a rich programme for the celebrations which will be held until December 18.
