The one-week countdown to the highly anticipated 2025 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship officially began today (Wednesday) with a prestigious press conference at the Royal Golf Club. The event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council.

Set to take place from 30th January to 2nd February, the tournament will feature an outstanding field of Major champions, Ryder Cup legends and DP World Tour stars, further cementing Bahrain’s status as a leading global golf destination.

‘The Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship is more than just a golf tournament; it is a celebration of Bahrain’s heritage, hospitality and commitment to sustainability,” said Tom Phillips, Director of Middle East for the DP World Tour. “We are thrilled to partner with Bapco Energies to deliver an event that not only showcases world-class golf but also leaves a positive, lasting impact.’

His Excellency Faris Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, emphasised how the championship aligns with Bahrain’s vision.

This year’s championship boasts an impressive lineup of world-class talent. Major champions including Pádraig Harrington, Jimmy Walker and Patrick Reed will join defending champion Dylan Frittelli, alongside Ryder Cup stars Robert Karlsson, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Nicolas Colsaerts, Jamie Donaldson, Ross Fisher and Bernd Wiesberger. DP World Tour winners such as Thorbjørn Olesen, Jorge Campillo, John Parry, Johannes Veerman, Elvis Smylie, Laurie Canter and Romain Langasque will also compete at Royal Golf Club next week.
