The British School of Bahrain celebrates outstanding A-Level results

The British School of Bahrain (BSB) is celebrating an exceptional set of A-Level results, with students achieving outstanding academic success and securing places at leading universities in Bahrain and around the world.
The Class of 2026 achieved a 100 percent A-Level pass rate, with 24 percent of all grades awarded at A*, 54 percent at A*-A and 92 percent at A*-C, reflecting the consistently high level of academic outcomes across the graduating cohort.
The results also demonstrate the exceptionally high level of added value that an education at BSB delivers. According to ALPS Education, BSB is ranked in the top 10 percent globally for the overall progress made by students. The school achieved an exceptional top 3 percent globally for student progress in A-Level History, A-Level Psychology and the BTEC IT Diploma, while A-Level Physics, Maths, French, Computer Science, Business Studies and PE all ranked within the top 10 percent globally for student progress.
These results place BSB among the strongest-performing schools in Bahrain and the wider region, reinforcing its global reputation for delivering a world-class British education in Bahrain and preparing students to succeed at the world’s leading universities.
Liz Stanley, Executive Headteacher, commented: “These are spectacular results of which the entire school community is very proud. These results are extra special given the challenging circumstances students have faced in the region this year and demonstrate the unashamed ambition of BSB in providing the best British education in Bahrain.
“These exceptional results demonstrate the true value of a BSB education: that excellence is not something we aspire to when times are easy, but what we deliver when times are hard. Achieving 24 percent A* grades, 54 percent A*-A grades and 75 percent A*-B grades is testament to the effort, diligence and determination of our students and the support of our outstanding teachers, day in and day out.

Students achieving at the highest level
Among this year’s outstanding graduates is Hriday Dewani, who achieved A* in Physics and Maths alongside A grades in Biology and Chemistry. Hriday will continue his studies at Imperial College London, where he plans to pursue Mechanical Engineering. Inspired by his family’s engineering heritage and his great-grandfather’s dream of seeing future generations study abroad, Hriday is proud to continue that legacy. His favourite subject at BSB was Physics and he leaves the school with a clear ambition to use his education to make a positive contribution to the world.
Ayaan Abid achieved A* in Maths, an A in Further Maths and A grades in Biology and Chemistry. He will remain in Bahrain to study Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland – Bahrain. Reflecting on his time at BSB, Ayaan said the school gave him the opportunities, support and challenges that encouraged him to aim higher than he thought possible, while also helping shape the person he hopes to become as he begins his journey in medicine.
Zainab Khemira achieved an exceptional A* in Chemistry, Biology and Maths, alongside an A in Arabic. She will continue her studies at McGill University, pursuing her interest in Biochemistry. Reflecting on her A-Level journey, Zainab highlighted the years of hard work and determination behind her results, alongside the encouragement of her family, friends and teachers. She described her time at BSB as a collection of lasting memories, achievements and challenges and leaves the school excited to begin the next chapter of her life.
The achievements of the Class of 2026 extend beyond examination results. Among the graduating cohort, Sayed Yousif and Dana have also been selected for the prestigious Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme, recognising their exceptional potential and opening the door to further academic opportunities.
With graduates securing places at leading universities in Bahrain and internationally, this year’s results represent another significant achievement for the BSB community.
The success of the Class of 2026 is a testament to the ambition and determination of its students, the expertise and commitment of its teachers and the support of families throughout their educational journey.
