Cancelled and Expired Residence Permits to be Extended till End of Year by NPRA

In accordance with the directives of the Executive Committee, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has announced that the status of all residence permit holders will be regulated till the end of the year.

Length of stay periods for cancelled and expired residence permits will be extended automatically till the end of the year without the need to submit an application and free of charge. The move is part of the implementation of the decision of the coordination meeting led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to promote national efforts against the spreading of coronavirus. It is also part of the follow up of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. 

In addition, the NPRA stated that all valid and expired visit visas will be extended for a period of three months without the need to submit an application and free of charge. The move aims to reduce the implications of the coronavirus pandemic in the world to enable the residents and visitors to correct their situations. The NPRA highlighted that the validity of all visit visas would automatically be renewed for three months, starting from the date of the issuance of the decision.
