Do you have room in your heart and home for one more? The Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre (BARC) is one of Bahrain’s renowned animal shelters which was founded by the late Tony ‘The Dogfather’ Waters several years ago. BARC currently cares for nearly 400 animals, so here are 4 of their lovely cats that are currently up for adoption.

Luigi is an affectionate tabby that gives the sweetest of hugs - he likes nothing better than climbing into his foster mama’s lap and going to sleep with his head rested on her chest. He loves people and is also happy in the company of other cats. The boy is full of energy, likes to explore and will be the perfect playmate for slightly older children. He is 7 months old, house trained, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Luigi would fit well into most homes if given a chance to settle in – at present, he is being cared for by a foster family.

Pong enjoys the company of other cats and loves playing with her sister Ping. Sadly, Ping and Pong lost their mum when they were only 2 days old, so they were raised at Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre and had to be bottle fed by volunteers. Pong has an abundance of energy and will thrive in a home where there’s a lot of activity and plenty of opportunity to play. She’d love to be adopted together with her sister but will be just as happy in any other cat-friendly environment. Pong is 6 months old, vaccinated and microchipped.

Myron is a softie that loves to be touched, stroked, and always welcomes a good chin scratch. He is a little shy at first, but once you pet his silky silver fur, he will be your best friend forever. Myron was rescued from the filth and squalor of a hoarder's house, where 52 cats had been kept in terrible conditions with very little food or water. He’s now around 5 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He gets along with other cats in his enclosure but prefers his own company whenever possible.

Tricot wasn't trained to be a shoulder cat, she was born this way. She likes riding on people's shoulders and watching the world from above. She is a confident and outgoing girl who will rub her little face against yours and gently purr in your ear. She bonds well with other cats and has a few favourite friends that she likes to sleep and play with.  Tricot is 7 months old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is currently at Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre, sharing her enclosure with 3 other kitties.
