Charles is king but who is next in line?

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, her eldest son Charles became King. Although the official coronation ceremony is on May 6, it is a mere formality as Charles became King the moment his mother died.

As all eyes are on the royal family, just who is next in line to the crown? Here’s ten royals and their place on the succession list.

Prince of Wales

William is the eldest song of Charles and Diana. He is first in line to the throne since his father became king.

Prince George of Wales

He was born in 2013 and is second in line to the throne after his father.

Princess Charlotte of Wales

She is known as her Royal Highness Princess of Wales and is third in line to the throne, after her brother and father.

Prince Louis of Wales

He is the last son of William and Kate and is fourth in line to the throne.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex

Even though he stepped away from a senior role within the royal family, Harry remains fifth in line to the throne.

Prince Archie of Sussex

Archie is the first child of Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. He is sixth in line to the throne.

Princess Lilibet of Sussex

Named after Queen (The nickname the royal family gave her) Lilibet is seventh in line to the throne.

The Duke of York

He stepped away from royal duties in 2019 after a controversial interview on BBC regarding his friendship with controversial US financier Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Andrew is eight in line to the throne, despite his legacy involving Epstein.

Princess Beatrice

She is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York. She married property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020. Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne.

Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi

Sienna is the Queen’s 12th grandchild and tenth in line to the throne. She was born in September 2021.
