Death of 60-year-old Bahraini National Brings Coronavirus Death Toll to 7

The Ministry of Health today announced the death of a 60-year-old male Bahraini national, a registered active case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) who was suffering from underlying and chronic health problems.

The deceased male, a contact of an active case, was placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team. It is notable that The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) stressed the importance of social distancing at a press conference yesterday.  Social distancing helps limit contact with infected people and contaminated surfaces.

The number of active cases of coronavirus in Bahrain is currently 870. The ministry highlighted that, excluding three cases, all other active COVID-19 cases remain stable and all patients continue to receive treatment from a specialised medical team following guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Ministry of Health expressed its heartfelt condolences to the individual’s family at this difficult time.
