Donation Drive Launched to Collect Items for Afghan Refugees Passing Through Bahrain

An urgent appeal for donations in kind for Afghan refugees has been launched in Bahrain to help Afghan refugees who will pass through the Kingdom later this week.

The donation drive is being led by a Bahrain resident who wishes to remain anonymous. Charitable initiative in the Kingdom of Bahrain, A Box of Goodness, led by founder Miranthe Dole, is assisting the drive to provide items to those who have fled from the troubled country.

Many of those refugees who have managed to escape the country are barefoot while several are wearing the same clothes they left in many days ago. As reported by various news outlets across the world last week, several Afghans had been attempting to leave the country following the Taliban’s recent takeover of the capital.

Below is a list of donations which are highly welcomed:

Adults:
Men’s clothing and footwear (gently used or new)
Ladies clothing and footwear (gently used or new)
Sanitary towels
Shawls
Toiletries

Kids:
Clothing and footwear (gently used or new)
Diapers
Toiletries
Milk powder & Formula
Wet wipes

All items should be dropped off at the Ivory Building Reception at Reef Island before 10am on Thursday August 26.
