Friday Prayers to Resume in Bahrain on June 5

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has stated that Friday prayers will resume in Bahrain's mosques starting June 5.

The decision is based on the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to resume Friday prayers with the obligation of applying the precautionary measures announced by the National taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus to mitigate the spread of the virus.

This and other decisions related to the coronavirus will be periodically reviewed in accordance with the Sharia regulations to protect the health and safety of all, the ministry added.

The necessary arrangements to make the mosques ready to accommodate people for the Friday prayers have been coordinated by the ministry and the endowment departments.

In late March, Friday and communal prayers were suspended at all mosques and prayer areas affiliated with them. The decision was in line with the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the Kingdom, at the time,  to combat Coronavirus, including the ban on the gathering of more than five people in public places. People were urged to perform their prayers at home.
