Health Undersecretary calls for full commitment to preventive measures as cases rise

The Health Ministry undersecretary has warned that people have a crucial role in confronting the spread of the coronavirus and the present times are particularly critical due to the spike in cases.

It comes as Bahrain yesterday recorded 759 new cases of Covid-19 and four deaths.

Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea said: “All people need to show responsible and full commitment to the decisions issued by the relevant authorities and the precautionary and preventive measures in order to ensure health and safety for everybody and protect the community.

“We now need to see everybody fully aware of the situation and of the steps they should take to follow all the guidelines to protect themselves, their families and all their close ones from the coronavirus.

"Without genuine awareness and full cooperation from the people, we will not be able to overcome the challenge successfully. All citizens and residents are urged to contribute positively to the safety and wellbeing of the community at all times."

Dr. Al Manea said that following the discovery of mutant strains of the virus in Bahrain, people should not be complacent and must comply fully with the measures announced by the relevant authorities to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

"The precautionary and preventive measures and the instructions issued since the early days of the outbreak of COVID-19 are the same through which it is possible to confront the various strains of the virus. Preserving public health is a national duty,” he explained.
