HyperMax Marks First Anniversary in Bahrain

HyperMax, the grocery retail brand wholly owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Bahrain, is marking its first anniversary in the Kingdom. 

Over the past year, it has worked to deliver value, quality and a trusted shopping experience while expanding partnerships with local suppliers and producers and investing in the communities it serves.

During its first year, HyperMax opened six stores across the Kingdom and introduced the HyperMax mobile app, home delivery services and the HyMax Rewards programme, expanding the ways customers can shop and engage with the brand.

To mark the milestone and thank customers for their continued loyalty and support, HyperMax has launched a month-long anniversary campaign featuring promotions and discounts across selected food and non-food categories.

A “Shop & Win” anniversary campaign will run in stores and online, offering shoppers the chance to win prizes including free shopping for a year, selected electronic items and home essentials. Users of its digital platforms can also win free home delivery for a year. Throughout the month, HyperMax stores will host weekend activities including children’s workshops, supplier sampling experiences and community events.

Members of the HyMax loyalty programme will have access to exclusive promotions, special discounts and members-only prize draws.

HyperMax works with more than 250 local suppliers and regional SMEs. The majority of its seasonal fresh produce is locally sourced, supporting local producers and farmers.

Reflecting this commitment, the retailer launched “Khairat Al Bahrain”, an initiative bringing Bahraini farmers, producers and SMEs together under one platform at Bahrain Mall. The initiative involved more than 25 local suppliers and farmers, increasing the visibility of locally produced goods.

HyperMax has also made progress in developing its local workforce. Through a dedicated workforce localisation initiative aligned with the national local hiring strategy introduced in early 2026, it reached a Bahrainisation rate of 38%. The retailer says this made it the Kingdom’s leading brand for local hiring during that period. It has also created 500 direct and 150 indirect job opportunities, supporting local talent and Bahrain’s economic growth.

Community engagement has formed another part of HyperMax’s presence in Bahrain. The retailer partnered with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, the Kingdom’s largest charitable organisation, and established long-term partnerships with local food banks and agricultural initiatives to support food security and sustainability.

The retailer also collaborated with community groups to bring National Day traditions and cultural festivals into its stores, creating spaces for cultural celebration throughout the year.

As HyperMax enters its second year in Bahrain, it plans to develop its retail and digital services, deepen partnerships with local suppliers and SMEs and invest in accessible shopping experiences that meet customers’ changing needs across the Kingdom.
