A group of 40 entrepreneurs & professionals from around the world teamed up to publish the first collaborative book in the MENA Region on the subject of startups. The book title is “On Startups,” and it would serve as a pragmatic resource for anyone who is planning to start a business. It draws on the cumulative experience and knowledge of the contributing authors. The book covers a wide range of relevant topics including business planning, raising of funds, branding, customer service, and common business and legal mistakes by entrepreneurs.
Mohamed Isa, who is an Award-Winning Bahraini Speaker and Best-Selling Author, is leading the project management efforts of publishing this timely book. Commenting on this, he said: “I spoke and mentored at various startups events, and I always felt there was an unfulfilled need for a book like this. A book that provides practical advice to startups founders. And on 4 November 2018, I discussed the idea with my business associate, Raoof Nasser. He loved it. We agreed on broad level responsibilities to publish the book together. I created write up a brief for potential contributors on the same day!”
He added: “I am so happy with the progress we achieved so far. As we speak, we have a total of 37 chapters loaded with inspiration and insights for budding entrepreneurs with a total word count of more than 80,000 words. This is the equivalent of four MBA dissertations. And we are expecting a few more chapters soon. We recently had a breakfast meeting with the authors to celebrate this marvelous achievement and discuss future plans for the book in terms of the editing, printing, launching of the book in Bahrain and Internationally in print, audio, and eBook formats. I enjoyed observing the co-authors energy as they engaged with each other.”
We expect to launch the book in April 2019 when Bahrain hosts the 2019 Edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress.
