International Medical Community Affirms Feasibility of Corona Vaccines

The Chairman of Bahrain Medical Society, Dr. Ghada Al Qassim, said that there is complete consensus among workers in the medical and health communities around the world regarding the feasibility of COVID-19 vaccines, which have been approved by health regulatory authorities in many countries. She stressed the significance of citizens' and residents’ initiative in the Kingdom of Bahrain to take this vaccine to protect themselves, their community, and help in returning life to normal.

Dr. Al Qassim called on all members of the Society and the community to take the vaccine, as all members of the board of directors of the Bahrain Medical Society were keen to take to serve as an example to their fellow doctors and to all citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain. “It is important for residents to avoid the sources of rumors and intimidation about the vaccine and only listen to credible sources such as scientists, doctors and other medical practitioners, who were in the first lines to take the vaccine. Being courageous is necessary at this crucial stage, especially since Bahrain is currently writing the final chapter of its success story in fighting the pandemic,’ said Dr. Al Qassim.

“We hail the initiative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God preserve and protect him, to take the vaccine as the first Arab and global leader to take this courageous and inspiring step for his people and the world as well, and also the outstanding efforts exerted by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister in this field, as His Highness also volunteered in clinical trials of the vaccine, in a way that set an example for everyone,” she added.

The Kingdom of Bahrain culminated its efforts in the field of tackling the pandemic by providing the vaccine for free for all in abundant quantities for citizens and residents.

"Team Bahrain is fighting the pandemic following the best global health practices, as Bahrain has intensified preventive efforts to deal with the pandemic to enhance proactive health security by continuously monitoring global developments with experiences related to vaccines and developing plans to provide safe and approved vaccines smoothly for all citizens and residents,” added Dr. Al Qassim.

Those taking the vaccine are urged to continue adhering to the precautionary measures against the virus including maintaining social distancing and wearing masks in public places.
