Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, announced that companies and establishments in the private sector have started to pay the salaries of their Bahraini employees for the month of May.
The government guaranteed the payment of Bahraini citizens’ wages in line with the royal directives to launch financial and economic stimulus packages in support of Bahrainis working in the private sector and ensure the payment of their salaries for April, May and June, amid nationwide efforts to combat COVID-19.
The minister praised the constant care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to provide liquidity to the private sector to withstand the current social and economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister stressed that the government is giving tremendous support to the private sector whose economic role is pivotal in Bahrain, praising the employers for their cooperation and commitment to paying their Bahraini employees their salaries on time.
