The book "Death in the Snow" by the promising young author Sarah Sabt, 13, was launched recently, at ‘GFH House.’ This book, which brings together many characters in a thrilling storyline full of imagination and drama, represents a new step in the journey of Bahraini literature.
This book, which is a valuable addition to Bahraini literature, represents a promising start to a literary career full of creativity and suspense for the author Sarah Sabt. The book launch was attended by prominent figures including writers, intellectuals, and media professionals, along with the author's family, teachers, and friends. Attendees expressed their great admiration for the young author and her outstanding talent.
The event featured a special discussion session, along with two of her peers, Ahmed Al-Murbati and Sakina Abbas. This session covered several interesting topics including how Sarah began writing, what encouraged her to do so, and her future plans as an author.
“My passion for reading and stories were the main driving force behind my desire to write. I began writing short stories at the age of nine, finding this activity a release for my creativity and vast imagination. My family and teachers encouraged me to develop my skills, and enabled me to professionally undertake novel writing,” she explains.
Sarah also spoke about the challenges she faced during her journey in writing "Death in the Snow." She had to balance her academics with writing and finding a publishing house to support her emerging talent. “The support of my family, friends, and teacher played a significant role in overcoming these obstacles,” she says.
As for her future plans, Sarah confirmed that she intends to continue writing and developing her literary skills. “I am currently working on a new novel and hope it will be as well-received by readers as my first. I also intend to explore other fields in literature, such as playwriting and film scripts,” she adds.
