Magical Majaz: Why you need to attend their show

When: March 2

Time: 8pm-9:30pm

Venue: Qal’at Al Bahrain Site Museum

This four-piece fusion folk band are proudly Bahraini made. Their progressive fusion music has made them one of the islands most unique acts. Formed in 2013, the band released their first single in October 2016. They have their own home built studio called Studio Majaz and it is there that they released Rihla, their first ep.

The group consists of Salah Alawi on bass and vocals, Hameed Al Saeed on guitar and vocals, Jehad Al Hallal on cello and Abdulla Faisal on percussion and vocals.

Their newly released single Shuruppak takes a journey through our past and present. It has elements of Khaleeji folklore and modern electric sounds. Shuruppak is Sumerian and means ‘land of the utmost being.’ It pays homage to a time when “Bahrain was dubbed an uncanny similar moniker.”

With cellos, guitars and percussion, this group is a must-watch.
