Members of Bahrain's Hindu Community Invited to British Embassy for Sacred Ritual

Married women from the Hindu community were invited to the British Embassy to perform sacred rituals around the ancient Banyan Tree in the Embassy premises on the occasion of ‘Vat Savitri Pooja’.

The ritual, which fell on June 14 this year, had been suspended for the past two years due to Covid restrictions. This year, the British Embassy very kindly invited the women to resume their prayers.

The Shreenathji Krushna Hindu Temple Managing Committee arranged the trip to the Embassy for the women observing the fast. They were warmly welcomed by Charge D’Affaires Stuart Summers and other Embassy staff. The rituals were performed by Hindu priest, Shastri Vijay Kumar.

The Temple Managing Committee expressed their gratitude to the British Ambassador H.E. Roderick Drummond, Stuart Summers and all the Embassy staff for their enthusiasm and support in making this event a grand success.
