Movenpick Launches Kilo of Kindness Campaign

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has officially launched its 2024 Kilo of Kindness campaign, a global initiative that involves more than 75 hotels across 30 countries. Running from October 14 to November 15, the campaign encourages guests, hotel staff and local communities to donate essential items like food, clothing and educational supplies, all of which will be distributed to local charities. The Kilo of Kindness initiative, now in its ninth year, exemplifies Mövenpick’s dedication to giving back to the communities it serves.

This charitable effort aligns with the brand’s legacy of generosity, which stretches back over 70 years to its founding. Inspired by Ueli Prager’s belief in doing ordinary things in extraordinary ways, Mövenpick launched the Kilo of Kindness in 2015. Since then, the initiative has gathered over 90,000 kilograms of donations worldwide, helping those in need and fostering a spirit of kindness. The campaign underlines Mövenpick's commitment to the idea that even small acts of generosity can make a significant impact.

Benoît Racle, Global President of Premium Brands at Accor, said: “Mövenpick’s Kilo of Kindness campaign embodies our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. Our legacy is built on the belief that generosity has the power to transform lives. By fostering genuine human connections, we’re not just providing support; we’re inspiring others to carry forward this spirit of giving. This tradition of kindness is more than a moment; it’s a movement.”

Throughout the campaign, participating hotels will select local charity partners to ensure that donations directly benefit those in the surrounding communities. This year’s campaign will see contributions supporting various causes, including providing nutritious meals and essential supplies to those in need, as well as donating educational materials to inspire connection and discovery.

For example, the Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain has partnered with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), a local organisation committed to aiding people in need. General Manager Benoit-Joseph Metnaomski stated: “At Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain, we believe that true hospitality extends beyond our doors and into the heart of the community. We are proud to partner with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation to provide much-needed resources through the Kilo of Kindness campaign.”

The Kilo of Kindness is a global movement of generosity that Mövenpick hopes will continue to inspire individuals and communities alike to come together and support those in need. Donations are welcomed at participating hotels, and the brand encourages everyone to get involved by contributing items such as non-perishable food, second-hand clothing, toys, books and working electrical equipment.
