Muharraq Municipality to be Closed from July 5-23 for Maintenance and Disinfection

The Muharraq Municipality has announced that its main building in Busaiteen will be closed from July 5 to July 23 for maintenance and disinfection.

According to a report by the GDN, Muharraq Municipal Council members and their employees had to undergo COVID-19 tests after 5 positive cases were reported in the Municipality Complex in Busaiteen. The council shares the building with the Muharraq Municipality which had reported the 5 cases.

In its statement, the Muharraq Municipality said that the move is part of its commitment to strengthening the precautionary and preventive measures for the aim of protecting the health and safety of the citizens,  residents and employees from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The municipality said all the employees of its various sections will work from home during the closure to ensure that the transactions of the citizens and residents are not delayed, noting that 70% of its staff have been working from home during the past period, in line with the decision of the Government Executive Committee, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in this regard.

The Muharraq Municipality called on customers to visit the official website of the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry (www.mun.gov.bh) or use the Ministry's social network accounts to carry out their transactions and follow up on all procedures.
