National Museum Hosts Special Exhibition For Pope Francis' Visit

The Bahrain National Museum hosts a special exhibition documenting the historic visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which came in response to the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, may God protect and preserve him. The exhibition presents words, pictures and collectibles that remind the visitor of the meetings that took place, reflecting the exceptional value of this historical event.

The exhibition includes a group of items and collectibles, starting with three sections that tell about the visit and express its regional and global importance, as it contains an abbreviation for "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue - East and West for Human Coexistence", which was held with the participation of His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb Sheikh. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, President of the Council of Muslim Elders.

The exhibition also stops at the meeting of His Holiness the Pope with the Christian community, where he had met with Bahraini Christians, residents, and those coming specially to meet him from the Arab Gulf countries, in the Our Lady of the Arabs Cathedral, in addition to presiding over a mass in the Bahrain National Stadium that gathered about 30,000 people, and he also met with a group of young people. At the Sacred Heart School in the capital, Manama.

The exhibition devotes a section to the dimensions of the papal visit, as Pope Francis is the first supreme pontiff to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain, bringing with him the message of peace, dialogue and coexistence of religions, devoting what was said of legends in the land of Bahrain, the “pure and sacred” land of Dilmun, and establishing the importance of the kingdom’s endeavors under the leadership of His Majesty, the great King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, in adopting dialogue, convergence and peace as principles that embody the vision of the Kingdom and its constitution that respects the other in his differences and riches.

This content displays the chair on which His Holiness Pope Francis sat during his historic visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, on November 4, 2022 AD, where he participated in the conclusion of the "Bahrain Forum for Dialogue - East and West for Human Coexistence". The exhibition also includes the wooden platform in front of which His Holiness spoke during his visit. In addition to the car in which His Holiness Pope Francis was transported in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was made by the Fiat 500 company.
