New directives issued by Labour and Social Development Ministry

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development has announced the suspension of in-person attendance at licensed rehabilitation centres, nurseries and training institutes, directing people to switch to online learning.

The move follows the new measures announced yesterday by the National Medical Task Force for Combating Covid-19, which were reported by Bahrain This Month.

In a statement, the ministry said that the precautionary suspension, effective from 11:59pm tonight until June 10, does not apply to international exams.

“Based on this decision, a 70 percent work-from-home policy applies to members of the administrative, educational and technical staff of these institutions,” it said

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development urged full compliance with all decisions issued under these exceptional circumstances, directing all members of the administrative, educational and technical staff to continue to apply all precautionary measures and instructions previously issued by the national body.

These include mainly the disinfection of workplaces, social distancing and other measures necessary to provide protection and prevent the spread of the pandemic, ensuring a healthy work environment to protect the health and safety of everyone.
