New measures announced in Bahrain to curb Covid-19 spread

Due to the surge in new Covid-19 cases, the Ministry of Health has introduced stricter measures to take effect from tomorrow until June 3.

Access to malls will be limited to adults who have been vaccinated and can show the green shield evidence on their smartphone’s BeAware Bahrain app, Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Waleed Al Manea announced.

Access to markets, with the exception of supermarkets, banks and pharmacies, will be limited to the same criteria alongside the current measures already imposed for indoor restaurants, gyms and cinemas.

Private gatherings will be limited to six individuals.

Furthermore, people arriving from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine and three PCR tests if they are staying for more than 10 days.

As discussed in our earlier article today, 2,354 new cases were registered yesterday, a record high for Bahrain. These measures are aimed at curbing this spread.
