Private Centres for the Disabled to Resume Activities Today

Activities,  programmes and individual rehabilitation sessions will resume at private centres accommodating people with physical disabilities today.

Labour and Social and Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has issued an administrative circular in this regard, stressing compliance with the mandatory precautionary measures to ensure the safety and health of students and employees at the centres.

The circular was based on the decisions of the Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

It also takes into account the recommendations of the National Taskforce for Combating COVID-19, chaired by Supreme Council for Health (SCH) Lieutenant-General, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa.

The minister underlined the Government’s drive to provide social and health protection for people with physical disabilities, commending the efforts and dedication of Bahrainis running the privately-owned rehabilitation centres and advanced level of services which enable the affiliates to be integrated in the development march, formal educational and training institutions.

He reiterated the ministry’s keenness to support the efforts exerted by civil society institutions to provide quality and sustainable social and development projects, particularly the centres which accommodate people with physical disabilities.
