Second Group of Bahraini Citizens to Arrive from Iran Today

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Walid Al-Manea, announced that the second group of citizens will return to Bahrain from Iran through the International COVID-19 Repatriation Programme, via a chartered plane scheduled for today, March 23.

“The Ministry is continuing its efforts to intensify all measures to contain and prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Dr. Al-Manea.

These measures include immediate laboratory tests for all evacuated citizens on arrival in the Kingdom, under the supervision of a specialised medical team. Based on the results of the tests, citizens will either be transferred to a precautionary quarantine centre or isolation and treatment centres, according to guidelines and standards approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“The Ministry continues to coordinate with relative entities to ensure all Bahraini citizens are evacuated from Iran and the best healthcare services will be provided upon their arrival,” he concluded.
