From a boat making workshop steeped in Bahrain's rich history and culture to Mexican Independence Day and Dandiya Raas, September continues to be an exciting month in Bahrain. Here are three great events to look forward to where you can really soak up the culture.

Boat Making Workshop
Al Jasra Crafts Training Centre
Enjoy doing some hands-on work when you build a wooden boat during this workshop! Participants will learn to recognise the many types of wood used to make model ships, how to cut wood to construct ship models, how to mould the ship's accessories, and how to draw, carve, and sand a piece of wood. Bahrain has a long history of shipbuilding, an important traditional industry where Bahrainis have thrived and left notable legacies. Al-banush (dhow), bloom, Albaghlah, and other types of ships have been used for passenger and cargo transportation as well as fishing, diving, and pearling through the centuries. The workshop is from 10am to noon. Be sure to register through the website to ensure your spot.
