Bahrain Works Minister inspects Water Garden Project

Work on the second phase of the Water Garden development project is on track.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf inspected the progress of work on the project which covers 6 hectares.

He directed to fast-track the project so that it could be inaugurated within the coming months, adding that most development works are nearing completion as planned.

He underlined the keen interest of Her Royal Highness Princess bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) President in the milestone.

In a statement today, the minister said that the parking lot and service-only buildings have already been completed, stressing the importance of conserving the historic identity of the iconic garden, including the lakes which cover 12,349 square metres.  

He underlined the ministry’s strategy to intensify the plantation of environment-friendly trees to reach a total of 1200, and expand green spaces.
