Virtual Learning in Practice

Following Ministry of Education directives, Nadeen School has transitioned to virtual learning, implementing a structured approach to maintain academic delivery while prioritising wellbeing and ensuring continuity for learners.

From the outset, the focus remained on sustaining academic standards while ensuring the safety of learners and staff. Live lessons, structured timetables and clear communication were implemented to support consistency and minimise disruption. The approach reflected the ethos of The Nadeen Way, where resilience, compassion and collaboration continue to guide decision-making.

Throughout the period of online learning, teachers and support staff delivered lessons designed to remain consistent while also providing pastoral support. Learners adapted to new routines with maturity and responsibility, while families played an essential role in reinforcing stability at home. The wider school community demonstrated the value of partnership during this period.

To support communication, the school hosted weekly Community Check-In sessions. These virtual gatherings provided parents with updates and practical guidance, along with an opportunity to raise questions, helping families remain informed and reassured while maintaining connection.

“These past weeks have reminded me why I value being part of this school,” Principal James Batts noted. “I have seen our team go above and beyond, our learners show maturity, adaptability and responsibility, and our families offer kindness and trust.”

“It has not always been easy, but we have faced it together and that has made a difference,” he continued. “This experience has reinforced that education extends beyond the classroom.”

“It is about connection, consistency and care,” he stated. “Schools are about people, not just buildings.”

“Even when our classrooms looked different, the heart of Nadeen remained the same,” he added. “Whatever the circumstances, our responsibility to our learners remains unchanged and that is something we are proud of.”

Alongside academic continuity, the school also introduced an initiative to support its parent community. Recognising the range of entrepreneurs and professionals within its network, a directory of parent businesses is being developed.
The initiative is intended to encourage families to support local enterprises and strengthen connections across the school.

As Term Two concluded and the school community entered the spring break, the period also offered a moment for reflection. The experience reinforced that education depends on adaptability, empathy and shared responsibility.

Looking ahead, the school has now received updated guidance from the Ministry of Education, enabling a phased return to campus. This will begin with Early Years, Year 1 and Thrive learners, with attendance optional for families. To ensure flexibility and continuity, a hybrid model will be in place, allowing learners to return to campus or continue remotely.

The school looks forward to welcoming all learners back to campus and stands ready to move forward with confidence, care and the unwavering commitment that defines Nadeen School.
