Dr. Rana Sawaya, UCB President

University College of Bahrain (UCB) was founded in 2002 by Prof. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, whose vision was clear from the start to establish a private higher education institution that not only excelled academically but prioritised its students’ needs. UCB President, Dr. Rana Sawaya, highlights the institution’s unique academic offerings and achievements.

University College of Bahrain (UCB) has earned a reputation as a student-centred university in Bahrain and, since its founding, has been recognised for its combined aim of achieving excellence in education and enabling students to achieve their goals.

At UCB, we offer undergraduate programmes in the subject areas of Business Administration, Information Technology and Communications and Multimedia as well a unique Master of Business Administration. Our educational philosophy is to blend these aspects with creativity and intellectual dynamics of business, the liberal arts and sciences. This holistic approach ensures that our education is of the highest quality, meeting local and international standards. Our curriculum is continuously updated to include the most recent practices ensuring that graduates will be the leaders in their profession, ultimately contributing to the needs of our community and the wider region.

It fills me with immense pride to share that UCB is honoured with the quality assurance certificate from the Jordanian Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutes (AQACHEI) and is recognised from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

In January 2023, the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia acknowledged our efforts by listing UCB as one of the recommended Higher Education Institutions another significant milestone. UCB is now listed on Safeer, the Ministry of Education platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In March 2024, the Board of Trustees for Higher Education granted UCB institutional accreditation for four years. These significant milestones are not just accolades; they reflect our commitment to the empowerment of our students. As we celebrate these achievements, let us look forward to the future with determination and optimism.

We extend an invitation to future leaders, scholar, and innovators to embark on a transformative journey that will equip them with knowledge, skills and competencies to make a valuable impact in the world. Our admissions for the upcoming new academic year 2024-2025 are now open. We welcome you to embark on a transformative journey at UCB.
