Ola Abu Zaroor, the Principal of Multinational School Bahrain (MNS), embodies a commitment to excellence and inclusivity in education. With a career spanning from teaching to leadership roles, she has steered MNS towards becoming a beacon of educational innovation and community engagement.
Ms. Zaroor began her educational journey after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business and a high diploma in education from Al Najjah University in her native Palestine in 2005. Embracing her passion for education, she commenced her career as a teacher, eventually rising through various leadership roles to assume the position of Principal at MNS in 2022.
Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Zaroor remarks: “My passion for education has been a driving force throughout my career. I believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and it’s my privilege to contribute to their learning journey.”
At the helm of MNS, Ms. Zaroor articulates her primary goals into three pillars: enhancing student achievement, fostering staff development and cultivating a positive school community. Her vision is centred on realising the immense potential of the school and ensuring holistic growth.
Founded 11 years ago, MNS has undergone remarkable growth and is now accredited as a British School Overseas, reflecting its dedication to excellence. With approximately 490 students representing more than 50 nationalities, MNS embodies diversity and inclusivity at its core. Every student is valued and embraced as part of the MNS family, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
MNS follows the British Cambridge curriculum for Primary and Lower Secondary, offering Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel examination boards for Upper Secondary students. The school caters to students from Nursery up to Year 13.
“Our curriculum is designed to provide a rigorous academic foundation while nurturing critical thinking, creativity and lifelong learning skills,” explains Ms. Zaroor. “We are committed to preparing our students for success in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.”
What sets MNS apart is its emphasis on creating a nurturing environment where students feel valued and empowered. With smaller class sizes and a dedicated counselling department, MNS prioritises pastoral care and holistic development.
The Learning Enrichment department at MNS upholds core values of inclusivity and diversity, supporting students with Special Educational Needs alongside their neuro-typical peers. Regular community events further enhance engagement and cohesion.
Furthermore, MNS offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities aimed at promoting holistic development and nurturing talent outside the classroom. From culinary arts to chess to cryptocurrency, students have ample opportunities to explore their passions.
“Our extracurricular programmes are designed to inspire creativity, curiosity and lifelong learning,” explains Ms. Zaroor. “By providing a wide range of activities, we empower students to discover their interests, develop new skills and pursue their passions.”
Membership in organisations like BSME, BAS and SSL provides avenues for students to showcase their talents and compete with peers from across the GCC in various events, ranging from sports to writing.
While focusing on examination preparations for senior students, MNS is gearing up for exciting events in Term 3, including a memorable graduation ceremony. Parents and students are encouraged to stay updated through the school’s social media channels.
With admissions open for the upcoming academic year, MNS extends a warm invitation to families seeking a vibrant and inclusive educational community. A special 20 percent discount on tuition fees for Nursery and Reception students underscores the school’s commitment to accessibility and excellence.
“I invite families to join us on this journey of learning, growth and discovery,” says Ms. Zaroor. “At MNS, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and succeed.”
