Catching up with Tamer Farouk, General Manager of Hilton Bahrain, the first-ever pet-friendly hotel in the Kingdom.

Hilton Bahrain, the first-ever pet-friendly hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently launched in the bustling city of Juffair.  The establishment’s General Manager, Tamer Farouk, whose career highlights include working in Egypt and in parts of the GCC, brings over 26 years of Hilton experience to Bahrain.

Farrah Saville chats with Mr. Farouk to find out what makes the hotel stand out in Bahrain’s hospitality scene and what guests can expect from the 348-room property.

There are numerous hotels in Bahrain. How does Hilton Bahrain offer a unique experience?

Hilton Bahrain has a unique take on hotel living. We have meticulously studied the needs and wants of our guests and created a dynamic urban lifestyle with our state-of-the-art facilities, wellness and culinary experiences, and our world-renowned Hilton hospitality.

This full-service hotel is also the perfect choice for vacationers, business travellers and families with its modern and stylish studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, which feature a spacious living room, fully-equipped kitchen and breathtakingly beautiful sea views from its balcony.

Memorable experiences will be an everyday routine for our guests with our six distinct restaurants, wellness centre, and recreational facilities including a pool and jacuzzi. Our bespoke meeting spaces which are ideal for business meetings and social gatherings too. I am positive that Hilton Bahrain will be a great new addition and gastronomic destination in the already buzzing city.

What will the hotel be doing to ensure it is sustainable?

We are a proud supporter of Hilton’s Travel with Purpose—Hilton’s economic, social and governance strategy to drive responsible travel and tourism. It is our goal to be a champion when in it comes to sustainability and environmental activism in the hospitality industry in Bahrain. One of our efforts to fulfil this commitment was ensuring that we do not have any single-use plastic in the property.

How was the design and interiors of the hotel determined?

The interior design took inspiration from the beautiful history of Bahrain with elements of black gold and aquamarine for its surrounding seas and the exotic shades of pearls. The local touches are in sharp contrast to modern edges on its pillars that give the hotel an over-all modern feel.

The hotel promises memorable culinary experiences. Can you take us through what each of the six restaurants has to offer?

We recently launched four of our six restaurants and lounges. The first is Lamar Café & Lounge, located in the lobby, which offers delectable pastries and cakes, delicious snacks, easy meals, and gourmet coffee and signature beverages - perfect for any time of the day.

Second is Origin Kitchen and Culture - a beauty! It features a high-ceiling, which looks like starry skies – enough of a reason to visit. This fine dining restaurant also features a huge open kitchen; so, your palate and eyes get to feast on our chefs’ culinary techniques. You’re also guaranteed fresh, international meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We also have a pool bar, complementing our beautiful outdoor pool and jacuzzi. This mobile pool bar will offer all-time favourite comfort food, refreshing beverages and pool time’s best accompaniment - ice cream!

Last, but definitely not the least, is Cocoluna. Coconut and moon perfectly match the uber-chic ambience of this lounge. Gorgeous views, chill music and genius mixology sums up a Cocoluna experience.

Why did Hilton Bahrain decide to be a pet-friendly hotel?

We believe that our commitment to the environment and society extends to care for animals, that’s why I’m so proud to lead a property that welcomes pets. We continue to improve travel experiences and understand the need for pet lovers, such as I, to have a trusted destination where we can share memorable experiences with our pets.

Hilton Bahrain aims to redefine upscale urban living with our “paw-fect” services and perks like an exclusive VIP pet membership, grooming services, treats and their own in-room pet dining menu!
