Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colourful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans. 

Audiences have been mesmerised by the colourful sets, doll-like outfits and humorous dialogue, but Barbie has a much deeper message for viewers to unpack. It’s a coming-of-age movie which acknowledges several challenges that women all around the world face including the need to meet impossible beauty standards and being underrepresented. The movie also significantly addresses the effects of patriarchy. At the end of the day, Barbie is an eye-opener which will leave women of all ages feeling inspired and, more importantly, understood.
