This leading institution is revamping its facilities and undergoing extensive redevelopments for the new academic year
As the study year 2017-2018 unfolds, AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) is making significant improvements. A number of new initiatives aim to promote more opportunities and experiences that aid in the educational and personal growth of the students.
Since AMAIUB is home to a number of athletes who are part of the Kingdom’s national sports teams, there is a big focus on physical activities. There are a range of venues such as a basketball court, volleyball court and table tennis facilities, among others, and the construction of the football pitch is now finished and ready for use.
The University auditorium – used for seminars, workshops, conferences, lectures and other activities – is undergoing a major refurbishment and is scheduled for completion in September. The MBA Room is also being retrofitted. Further, engineering students will have an additional mechatronics lab that features cutting-edge equipment.
The Faculty Development Office, under the supervision of the vice president for Academic Affairs is working closely with the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in achieving a significant number of teaching fellowships. Some of the university’s faculty members are already fellows of HEA, while others are in the process of becoming members.
AMAIUB’s new strategic plan underscores the enhancement of its research culture and the establishment of international linkages with reputable universities and international organisations. In line with this, AMAIUB’s Colleges of Engineering and Computer Studies have penned a Memorandum of Understanding with the Engineering Technology and Social Science Management Team of the International Islamic University of Malaysia to organise an international conference. This is an assurance of AMAIUB to the Kingdom’s academic community that its research goals are in accordance with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Higher Education Research Strategy 2014-2024.
