The British School of Bahrain (BSB)

The British School of Bahrain (BSB) has been one of the leading schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain for more than 26 years. Under the stewardship of John Maguire, the school is rated as Outstanding by the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) and it is accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO).

BSB’s purpose-built campus caters to students from the ages of three to 18, with a diverse student base including 92 nationalities. Its inclusive and innovative teaching approach has led to it becoming the most-awarded school in Bahrain with recent international awards in Student Wellbeing, Innovation in Education, Environment, Community partnerships and more. It is part of the Inspired Education Group.

Alongside its academic activities, BSB places equal importance on sporting and artistic pursuits, offering 290 different extra-curricular activities. The school’s innovation in sports and music provision has been highly acclaimed regionally, including winning the BSME ‘Best in Bahrain’ award.

The school also offers ‘Elements by BSB’, which delivers quality progressive programmes in areas including sports, music and academics. The school’s coaches help students improve their social skills, instil discipline in their chosen craft and inspire them to fulfil their potential and have fun.

Over the last 12 months, there have been exciting developments in supra-curricular enrichment within BSB. The programme, Beyond BSB, addresses the challenge of how schools prepare students for the future whilst balancing all stresses in their lives, including educational demands for success. By working with both global and local experts, it designed a multi-faceted approach that enabled industry speakers, university-level academic preparation, career pathway initiatives and opportunities for student leadership and social skills development.

For the upcoming academic year, BSB’s Infant School is undergoing an exciting transformation, dubbed Project Tofl. The school is investing BD600,000 in a complete renovation of its learning environments. BSB has engaged a leading global school designer based in Milan, Italy, to create learning spaces that support outstanding teaching and learning for the future.
